Our Executive Board plans events to promote professional development, STEM

education, networking, and much more! We’re always looking for motivated leaders to help out.

AWIS Hosts Lab Support: “From Academia to Industry - Tips and Tricks for Your Successful Job Search!”

  • Wednesday, March 19th, 5:30pm-7:30pm

  • Location: Health Sciences Facility II (HSF II), 20 Penn Street, Baltimore, MD 21201 (building #41 on this map)

  • Parking: closest garages are ~1 block away - Penn Str Garage (120 S. Penn St.) OR Pratt Str Garage (646 W. Pratt St.)

  • Circulator Route: stop # 207 (Penn Str) on orange line. From JHMI - green line transfer to orange; from JHU Homewood - take JHU shuttle to Peabody - then take purple line transfer to orange

AWIS Goes for the Gold with New Book on Equitable Solutions

  • Earlier this month, AWIS National launched their latest book at a posh gala affair hosted by Elsevier Foundation at The Library in Chicago.  Equitable Solutions for Retaining a Robust STEM Workforce: Beyond Best Practices, written by past AWIS president Donna Dean, PhD, and AWIS CEO and Executive Director Janet Bandows Koster, MBA, presents a new way of framing the discussion about work life integration and satisfaction. The book is available through Elsevier’s website and AWIS members receive a 30% discount.

Cultural Fair for Children at JHU Spring Fair 2014

  • Friday, April 25 (4pm-6pm) & Saturday, April 26 (1pm-4pm)

  • “Over Sea and Land We Go!”: cultural fair for kids that showcases the countries represented by the Hopkins student and postdoctoral body, with 20 booths for different countries. More info here.
